Welcome to Hartland Consolidated Schools. Hartland is a district consisting of approximately 93 square miles located in northeastern Livingston County with over a century-long tradition of educational excellence.

The district currently serves approximately 5,500 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, as well as two alternative education programs, in nine school buildings with a staff of four Central Office administrators, thirteen building administrators, 280 teachers, and clerical, paraprofessional, transportation, custodial-maintenance, and food service support staff.

In addition to the K-12 program, the district also operates a community education program, a community aquatic facility, a senior citizens’ center, and maintains the Hartland Music Hall, Don Epley Park, and Winegartner Field in the Village of Hartland.

Hartland Consolidated Schools has a history of cooperation among the school buildings and the community. This dates back to the Hartland Area Project started by philanthropist J. Robert Crouse in 1931. The Project stressed the interdependence among the community and schools and how this interdependence positively impacted community growth and improvement. This influence is still present in Hartland Consolidated Schools today, and is the cornerstone of the District’s excellence in education and commitment to a positive home, school, and community partnership.

The mission of Hartland Consolidated Schools is to maintain a vibrant, strong school system that meets the needs of its students and families. We draw on our rich heritage to serve as a guide to the future. Please browse our web site to gain information regarding our schools and community.
