Who can
benefit from water exercise classes?
Water has unique properties that make it an ideal
exercise environment for nearly everyone.
From the elite
athlete to those
severely de-conditioned from injury, illness or just plain old inactivity, we
offer classes that
can help you toward
your fitness goals.
Water exercise allows you to work at your own pace while supporting your back
and body weight, thus
reducing impact and wear
on joints. Many people, who are unable to exercise on land due to weakness,
injury, or arthritis,
are able to get moving in the water. Some classes are held in deep water,
but no one
is required to go
in water over their head. Swimming skills are not required in any class. Our instructors
are either personal
trainers or AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) certified, and CPR/
Except Fibro-in-Motion, it is not necessary
to register for a specific class. All other classes can be attended on
a drop-in
basis. Purchasing a frequency card gets
the lowest cost and are good for any 20 exercise classes
within 6 months from
date of purchase.

Deep Water Suspension
Time:
8:30am – 9:20 am &
10:30am – 11:20am
Days: Monday,
Wednesday, Friday
Designed to
increase body awareness through core stabilization, good body alignment and
breathing techniques, this class is great
cross-training. By using a buoyancy belt
to suspend
participants in deep water, we can focus on cardiovascular
and muscular endurance while
increasing flexibility. Anyone can benefit from this class.
Swimming skills are not required,
but comfort in deep water is helpful. Please arrive at least 5 minutes
before class begins to
put equipment on.
Twinges in the Hinges
Time: 11:30am – 12:20 pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Class is
designed to gently take your joints through their full range of movement, with
little
or no impact. This is especially important for those
with arthritis or other joint issues, but it’s
also a good place for those who haven’t been exercising to
get started. Exercising in the
water partially neutralizes gravity so you can move more
comfortably in the water than on
land. Class is held in the 86 degree 4-foot pool.
No swimming skills are necessary. For
those who need
assistance, family changing rooms are available and a helper in the water
is welcome.

86-degree
leisure pool, this class incorporates a variety of equipment and formats
enabling
you to
achieve a moderate to high intensity workout
