Accidents
can happen…Body
fluid contaminations are an unfortunate fact of life in public pools. Depending on the severity of the incident, it
may be necessary to close a pool for between 30 minutes and 8 hours. If the incident occurs less than halfway
through a swim event, all swimmers will be issued a free pass for a future
swim. If the incident occurs later than
halfway through a swim event, there will be no refunds. Though it can be very frustrating when it
happens, we request your understanding and cooperation.
About our air and water…
Our highest priority is maintaining a clean and safe
environment. The pool deck and locker
rooms are sanitized daily. We have state-of-the-art
water systems managed by a Certified Pool Operator at all times. Many people don’t realize that pool water is
tested by a state-licensed lab EVERY WEEK to assure your safety.
Some people are offended when we require that they shower before
entering the pool. Not only is showering
a state law, but rinsing off natural body oils and the many products used on
hair and skin really does help maintain the pool and lower the amount of
chemicals necessary for safe and clean operation.
Spectators sometimes complain about temperature in the pool
area. Air temperatures and humidity are
maintained for the comfort of swimmers, not dry people in street clothes. Spectators are welcome anywhere in the pool
area, but to help maintain cleanliness and safety we don’t allow street shoes
on the pool deck.
The average water temperature is the competition pool is 82
degrees, the leisure pool 86 degrees, and the hot tub 101 degrees. At any given time, the systems maintain
temperatures at plus or minus one degree.
We welcome
your suggestions . . .
