PTO Minutes
for
September 12, 2007
Members Present

Tracy Wright, Tracey Oger, Tara Cowell, Susan Lintzenich, Shirley Roth,
Elisa Bidus, Michelle Baker, Kim Holt, Kelli Habarth, Julie Van Houten,
Anne Auvenshine and Heather Paul.
Call
to Order at 7:00 p.m.
Each PTO member begins with an
introduction and brief synopsis regarding their children in the HHS
school system.
Read
of Minutes from June 13, 2006 PTO Meeting
Principal Simpson explained the June 13, 2007 PTO Meeting and
its relevance. He related
the meeting was called to resolve end of the 2006-2007 school year
issues. Reading of June 13,
2007 minutes waived by Susan Lintzenich and seconded by Principal
Simpson. Passed.
Treasurer’s
Report
Susan explained that we have no Treasurer’s Report this month since we
are waiting for this position to be filled.
She requests that someone volunteer for this position.
Principal Simpson explains that there is approximately $11,000
available in the budget, with an in-flow of nearly $40,000.
He states that we exceeded funds from the last Fall Fundraiser
and Scholastic Book Fair. Principal
Simpson gives a summary of what the FIS PTO spent last school year and
what the activities/items monies from the 2006-2007 budgets were used
for.
New
Business and Committee Reports
v
Susan reports that a rumor
is circulating that there will be no FIS Student Directory for the
2007-2008 school year because of the budget. She
informs everyone that this is not true and there will indeed be a
Student Directory and someone is needed to chair this position.
v
Rachel Wright volunteers to
oversee the FIS Student Directory.
v
Heather Laverne will be in
charge of FIS Market Day.
v
Erin Oldford will preside
over the Fall Fundraiser and Mega Event.
Principal Simpson discussed what is involved in these activities
and how much the students look forward to it.
We usually exceed the sales each year and all the fun which is
had at the Mega Event.
v
FIS Scholastic Book Fair is
September 15-21, 2007
v
Fall Fundraiser Kickoff is
September 21, 2007. Orders
are due on October 9, 2007.
Old
Business
v
Susan reiterated that there
are still positions to be filled for the FIS 2007-2008 PTO Board.
These are Vice President and Treasurer.
v
Chairperson is also needed
for the Publicity position. Marcia
Petersen states that she will chair this. Susan nominates Marcia
Petersen for FIS 2007-2008 Publicity Chairperson and motion passes.
v
It is decided that the
remaining positions will be tabled for a further PTO Meeting.
Administrative
Report
v
Principal Simpson discusses
the NCLB (No Child Left Behind Act).
v
Susan informs that the
Annual Report will be online this year.
v
Susan informs that starting
October 2007, the Farms Intermediate Newsletter will be available on the
HHS website only.
