Stories that our first grade Busy Bees have written independently |

My Gymnastics—by: Sophie On Thursday I went to gymnastics. When we were there my friend Charley was there too. She is always there. First we did jumps on the trampolines. We did combo jumps. First we jumped as high as kangaroos! All of a sudden...she said, ‘Time to get a drink.” Next… we did the splits! I got it all the way down. Finally we did butterflies. We picked where we wanted to go. I picked Illinois. Then we did it. Then we did round-offs. I was doing round-offs on the tumble track. Before long...she told us to go on the beam. We all went to the beam. Then we did bars. I was with coach and I did back hip circles on the bar. Then we got to get candy from our buckets.
Flower Girl—by: Emma My friends got married. I was a flower girl. We were going to the party. Everybody said hi. I was eating my dinner. Then I ate my dessert. Next the bride got presents. We got Barbies. |

Soccer— by: Paul It was fun playing soccer. We almost lost but we didn’t lose. We tied. I like to play soccer. It is fun to play soccer. Soccer is a lot of fun. Soccer is really fun to play. I can do soccer again. Soccer is really fun to play with boys not girls. Girls don’t like to play soccer.
The Bear—by: Mallory One day me and my mother were at Meijer’s. We went to the bears and I said, “Mom, can I buy a bear? She said, “If you want to.” So I got the bear Gus. What now? I want an I-pod. She said, “You already spent your money.” I told my mom I do not want a bear so I did not buy a bear. I went to go to the toys but I said, “Mom, can you go back to the bears?” So me and my mom went to the bears and the bear I liked was gone. Me and my mom went home.
Flynn—by: Noreen We are going to the hospital to see Fynn! Fynn is my nephew! I’m excited to see him. I came to the hospital with Val and Monica and Michael. Only kids who are 12 can go into the hospital rooms. Me and Michael went into the hospital rooms. I felt happy! When we were walking in the hall I thought we were lost but I was wrong. Missy was holding Fynn. Fynn is big! Missy was laying in bed at the hospital. I got to hold Fynn. Fynn is heavy. Even Michael got to hold Fynn. Even my dad and mom got to hold Fynn. I am an aunt and Michael is an uncle and my dad and my mom are grandpa and grandma.
The Zoo—by: Caden Me and my dad went to the zoo and we saw a zebra. Next we went to see the panda bear. It was hiding in the tree. Next we went to see the tigers. They were laying down. Then we went to see the bear. It was looking at us. Next we went to see the gorilla. It was standing. Finally we went to the store to get a toy for me. |

Football—by: Carter I was playing football with my dad. I tried to get a touchdown. We would keep doing it. We did do it for a long time. We did not stop. It was so fun.
The Snoopy Book - by: Ashley I have a dog. Her name is Snoopy. She is very silly. She has a lot of toys. I am nice to her. I love Snoopy very much. I am nice to Snoopy. Snoopy is going into the bath. She is very dirty. Snoopy is scared to see the doctor. I don’t know the doctor’s name. This is the first time Alyssa came here. We went home. Snoopy is the best. I got a collar for Snoopy. |

The Pumpkin Patch—by: Russel I went to the pumpkin patch. We found a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. After we got home my brother washed the pumpkin off. I carved the pumpkin. Next I put the pumpkin on the porch. But my pumpkin had some more icky stuff in it so I got the icky stuff out of the pumpkin. Then I put my pumpkin on the porch. I was done with everything.
Fall—Lliam I had some pumpkin bags that had leaves in them;. We put them out by the road. They light up in the night. Then we burnt the leaves up with fire. Then I went to get some donuts, marshmallows, and crackers while my dad was shooting the B.B. gun. Then I went to bed and my sister went to bed too. When I woke up I was hungry. I had breakfast. It was Frosted Flakes.
Shoe Shop—by: Kaydence I went to the shop to buy some shoes but my brother cried in the shop. Then she put us on the seat and said, “I will be right with you.” He still cried. We looked and looked but I found the perfect shoes. I said, “I want these.” We said good bye.
Friends—by: Lindsay Me and my friends were playing on the tire swing. I pushed them so high that they screamed! I got to push them again. It was the other person’s turn. They screamed too! And they got another turn, too. I was having a lot of fun. It was time to go inside.
Baseball—by: Bryce I was playing baseball. I hit the ball. I got a double. I went to second base. I was happy! Next my friend hit the ball. Wham! I heard it. He totally got a double. Then my friend got out. Finally we won.
My First Banana—by: Jameson I was born. Everyone was excited. We went to the door. My grandma came over. We went inside. My grandma gave me something. She gave me bananas. I ate them all. On TV we watched the movie of it, too. |

When My Cousin Came to Visit—by: Lyric Me and my cousin had a sleepover and it was tomorrow! Then the next day me and my cousin played a video game. Then my cousin went home. Then the next day I missed my cousin and I was crying.
The Walk—by: Caleb One day I went on a walk in the woods with my mom. The trees were red, yellow, and orange. That night we were walking home with my mom. We found a tortoise. It was big. My mom was trying to pick it up. She could not pick it up. The tortoise was walking away to its home. The next day we brought my dog named Cubby. He found a big snake. It was orange and black and was poisonous. The next day it was hot when my mom and dad and sisters and Cubby almost got to the end of the street. There was an ice cream truck. This is the best day ever.
The Hartland Pool—by: Rachel I went to the ice cream place. We had ice cream for Charley’s birthday. After that we went and had Charley open the presents. Then we went to the Hartland pool. We had to drive there. When we got there we went in the changing room. Then we went in the pool.
Rollerskating—by: Bailey Here are my rollerskates. I have tried them a few times. They are too hard. I did it again and again. I stopped to play soccer with Robert. I did it! I was so happy. I had fun! I felt happy.
