Vision Statement

Vision Statement

The Hartland Preschool and Childcare Center believe that every child will learn, grow and develop at their own rate.  Our staff will provide students with educational and fun opportunities that will help each child learn to the best of his or her abilities.  We will strive to develop literacy skills as well as provide experiences that enrich each child’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, intellectual and creative abilities to promote life-long learners.

Mission Statement

Mission Statement

The Hartland Preschool and Childcare Center wants to support children’s desire to be life-long learners.

We believe preschool is an important transition from home to school. We want to begin this educational path with you and your child to develop a love of learning.

We believe in a nurturing classroom where children learn at their own pace and in their style within a supportive environment.

We believe in a positive approach to instruction where the children feel safe to learn and build independence and confidence.

We believe each child is unique.

We believe in the learning potential of each child.

Philosophy

Philosophy

The Hartland Preschool and Childcare Center use Developmentally Appropriate Practices.  We attempt to build on the knowledge and skills that each child has attained and challenge them to grow.  We strive to strike a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities.  Our program allows for free play periods facilitated by the teaching staff during which the children choose from many available options in the learning centers of the classroom.  In addition, we provide more structured group times for stories, singing, playground time, snack, art experiences, cooking, literacy, and math and science activities.  Our indoor and outdoor facilities have areas for both active and quiet play and for individual and group activities.  Our goal is to provide something at which each child can be successful.

Since children progress at different rates, the classroom experience is flexible enough to meet the needs of all children.  The basic learning tool is the same for all children: learn by doing.  We understand the importance of providing a variety of experiences, options and media for the benefit of each child.
